Codrin was once a member of a the Netherese military. He served in a platoon of advance strike tactical fighters, led by a mad general Thoran, whose primary function was to surgically take out high value targets that the Twelve Princes had deemed to be enemies of the state. Codrin, like many Shadar Kai, sought of thrilling and dangerous work assignments such as this to begin with. The excitement soon waned and Codrin began to question the brutality and zeal that Netheril employed against its enemies. He ultimately became embittered by his service and deeds. Renouncing the goddess Shar, Codrin led a small rebellion with three other soldier mutineers to abandon their posts. A fierce battle ensued at the desert station called Aniel’s Pike. Only one of Codrin’s fellow mutineers survived the initial battle, only to succumb to his injuries three days later. Codrin wandered the deserts for

Having been dishonorably discharged from the Netherese Military and labeled as a known criminal, Codrin sought out acceptance in the Dale lands. It was here that he was recruited by the Harpers in the hope that his experience with Netheril might give the organization a strategic option if they should ever need to place a member under deep cover within the Netherese organization. Codrin shunned such notions,, preferring to help out on the front lines against his former country.
